AMENDED REQUEST FOR BIDS (RFB)

Bell Street Pavement Re-Striping Project

The City of Hiawassee is accepting sealed bids from qualified pavement marking contractors for the re-striping of Bell Street within the City of Hiawassee, Georgia.

Scope of Work

The successful bidder shall furnish all labor, equipment, traffic control, and incidental materials necessary to complete the following work:

  • Re-stripe all existing yellow centerlines on Bell Street.
  • Re-stripe all existing white edge lines on Bell Street.
  • Install white stop bars at the four-way intersection and at both existing stop sign approaches.
  • Install two (2) sets of transverse rumble strips at the four-way stop intersection in accordance with current GDOT standards.
  • All pavement markings, including centerlines, edge lines, stop bars, and rumble strip markings, shall be installed using pavement marking material meeting current GDOT specifications.
  • Contractor shall provide all labor, equipment, materials, layout, and traffic control necessary to complete the project.
  • Contractor shall clean the work area upon completion and dispose of all waste materials.

Contractor Requirements

Bidders shall:

  • Be properly licensed to perform the work in the State of Georgia.
  • Maintain current liability and workers’ compensation insurance.
  • Comply with all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
  • Perform all work in accordance with current Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) specifications and the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD).
  • Provide references for similar municipal pavement marking projects upon request.
  • Provide an executed Contractor Affidavit under O.C.G.A. § 13-10-91(b)(I)

Bid Submission

Sealed bids shall be clearly marked:

Bid Deadline

Sealed bids will be accepted until September 4, 2026, at 8:00 a.m. Bids received after the deadline will not be considered.

Bids will be publicly opened on September 4, 2026 at 10:00 a.m.

Reservation of Rights
